The Pentax Optio E50 Digital Camera is affordable and easy to use - making it a great entry-level compact digital camera. With a resolution of 8.0 Megapixels and a 3x optical zoom Pentax lens, the camera provides all you need to make superb pictures, even at enlargements up to poster sizes.

Even though this camera is easy to use, experienced digital photographers will enjoy the slim, lightweight body and simple mode selection dial. In addition, the camera is equipped with a high resolution 2.4 inch LCD display, 9.5MB of internal memory and high quality AVI Movie capture; plus the camera uses travel-friendly AA batteries as a power source.

 8.1 megapixel CCD gives the highest quality images in an entry level camera

• 3X optical zoom lens covers a wide range of shooting conditions. Combine with 4X digital zoom to achieve a total zoom capability of about 12X.

• The “Face Recognition AF&AE” function*1 allows you to take beautiful pictures of people with ease. This convenient function automatically detects faces in the frame and adjusts the focus and sets the optimum exposure. A maximum of 10 people can be recognized at once, assuring properly exposed portraits.
*1 :Available when the photography mode is "Auto Picture", "Program", "Portrait", and "Kids" and camera is directed to the people from the front.

• The Digital SR (Shake Reduction) mode reduces the effect of camera shake and blurring when photographing still images. The sensitivity is adjusted automatically, to as high as a sensitivity of ISO 1600, to match the brightness of the subjects. This enables for photography with fast shutter speeds so images with less blurring can be obtained.

• The Optio E50 is powered by AA batteries so that you can shoot with confidence when away from home.

• The Auto picture mode lets the camera automatically determine the shooting conditions for Landscape, Portrait, Night Scene, and Normal modes and chooses the optimum settings for each.

• Green mode automates the camera setup when shooting still images. A single button press automatically sets the exposure, sensitivity, white balance, and other parameters according to the shooting conditions.

• Large, easy-to-view 2.4-inch LCD monitor allows easy framing and review of images

• Panorama mode automatically stitches a series of three images into one wide scene

• Recording movies at sizes up to 640 x 480 pixels with image quality rivaling camcorders

• Frame composite function allows you to add a decorative frame around the image when shooting
