• 8.0 megapixel CCD assures high resolution images

• The 5X optical zoom lens, covering an angle of view equivalent to approximately 36 to 180 mm in 35 mm format makes is ideal for shooting a broad spectrum of subjects, from landscapes to portraits. Combine with the digital zoom function (approx. 1X to 5.1X), making a maximum zoom equivalent to 25.5X possible.

• The high resolution 3.0-inch LCD monitor allows images and text to be displayed clearly. It has a wide viewing angle of 170 degrees from all directions, making it easy to confirm images, even when looking at the screen diagonally. The LCD is coated with an AR (Anti-Reflection) coating that suppresses outside light and reduces reflections, making the monitor more easily viewable outdoors.

• “Face Recognition AF&AE" function automatically detects and focuses on faces, and sets the optimum exposure. Other functions such as the “Smile Capture” function, which distinguishes smiles and automatically takes photographs, and the “Blink Detection” function where the camera tells the user whether the people blinked when the photo was taken, are also available.

• Auto Picture mode lets the camera automatically determine the shooting conditions and chooses the optimum settings for Landscape, Portrait, Night Scene and Normal modes as well as Flower and Sports modes.

• Digital SR (Shake Reduction) mode reduces the effect of camera shake and blurring of the subject when photographing still images. The sensitivity is adjusted automatically, to as high as the ultrahigh sensitivity of ISO 6400, to match the brightness of the subjects.
